Motherhood is spoken about like magic — and it is — but no one prepares you for the parts that feel like unraveling and rebuilding at the same time. People warn you about sleepless nights and endless love, but no one really talks about the silent fractures… the ones you carry alone.

Carrying a child in the womb completely changed my outlook on motherhood. Suddenly I see every pregnant woman differently — with so much more respect — because I understand the labor of your body changing and the mental game that hums quietly in the background like a rhythm you can’t turn off. Birth is sacred. Even when you’re at the absolute end of your rope, feeling your bones expand and your body shiver, bringing a small human into the world is unforgettable.

And then postpartum hits — the new body, the new brain, the new you. When you look around at other mothers holding their newborns, there’s this instant, unspoken recognition — you’ve officially joined the club. That incredible, irreplaceable, joyful feeling of motherhood is unmatched. And with it come the scars — physical, emotional, mental. Postpartum life can feel like a cruel circus sometimes. Some days you’re the clown under your own roof, mad house with funky mirrors and chaos everywhere.

While it may sound dark — because it is — the scars are real and raw, and they’re what make us whole. When you look around at all the mothers in the room, know this: you’re part of the most prestigious club. We’re the ones with matching scars.

This collection grew out of that lived experience. Every brushstroke carries the tension between exhaustion and joy, vulnerability and strength. The colors, the textures, the layers — they reflect the messy, beautiful, and transformative journey of motherhood and healing. Through these paintings, I wanted to capture not just what it feels like to survive, but what it feels like to emerge, to show up fully, and to honor the weight and wonder of the life you’ve created — and the person you’ve become.
